Ready. Set. Wed!
Frequently Asked Questions
Many couples today are discovering that a smaller wedding can feel more meaningful, relaxed, and personal than a large traditional event. A micro wedding allows couples to focus on the heart of the celebration, their vows, their story, and the people closest to them.
With fewer moving parts and less pressure to manage a large guest list, couples often find they are able to enjoy the moment more fully. Micro weddings also make it possible to celebrate in beautiful venues with carefully curated details without the stress and expense that often come with larger weddings.
Ready. Set. Wed! was created specifically for couples who want a heartfelt ceremony and a joyful wedding experience while keeping things simple, intimate, and thoughtfully arranged.
Each Ready. Set. Wed! celebration includes space for up to 20 guests, including the wedding party. This allows for an intimate atmosphere where your vows and your love story remain the focus of the day.
Each couple enjoys one full hour of exclusive use of the beautifully restored Jackson Street Chapel for their ceremony and photographs inside the historic venue.
To help your experience feel relaxed and well organized, you will also have 15 minutes prior to your ceremony time to arrive, get settled, and prepare for your walk down the aisle. An on-site assistant will be there to welcome you, help you get situated, and make sure everything is ready for your ceremony to begin smoothly. Additionally, the Jackson Street Chapel has a bridal suite you can use to freshen up before your ceremony.
After your ceremony and photographs are complete, you will have an additional 15 minutes to gather your personal items and say your goodbyes to guests before the next couple arrives.
This schedule allows every couple to enjoy their special moment in the chapel while keeping the day flowing comfortably for everyone.
Yes. Before the event, you will meet with Celebrant Michelle Sponseller to discuss your story and the tone you would like for your ceremony. Michelle will create a custom ceremony written specifically for you, ensuring your vows and your moment together feel meaningful and authentic.
Your wedding day will be captured by Miss Lily Photography, and each couple receives a curated digital gallery of professionally edited images. Print options and keepsake products are also available if you would like to create albums or framed memories from your day.
You will need to bring your valid Michigan marriage license, your wedding rings (if you plan to exchange them), and two witnesses who will be present at the ceremony to sign the marriage license as required by the State of Michigan. Witnesses simply need to be adults attending your ceremony and can be family members or friends.
You are also welcome to bring any personal touches you would like to include in your ceremony, such as personal vows, a short reading, or special music.
Everything else has already been thoughtfully arranged for you, allowing you to focus on the joy of the moment and celebrating your marriage with the people closest to you.
Many couples choose traditional wedding attire, but the beauty of a micro wedding is that the day can feel relaxed and personal. Whether you envision a formal gown, a modern suit, or something simple and stylish, your attire should reflect what feels right for you.
Your professionally edited images will be delivered within 30 days of your ceremony through a private online digital gallery. From there, you can easily view, download, and share your photos with family and friends.
Your gallery will also include options for ordering professional prints and keepsake products, allowing you to turn your favorite moments from the day into lasting memories you can display and enjoy for years to come.
Because this event is designed to remain intimate, spaces are limited. To reserve your spot, simply submit the inquiry form and we will guide you through the next steps, including securing your date with an agreement and deposit.
